Time

The Time module provides an easy and efficient way to manage projects within your organization. The module effectively organizes tasks, expenses, work types, billing and invoice procedures to ensure your projects operate efficiently.

If you have multiple projects, use the Time module to:

  • Manage the progress of each project with definitive tasks, work types and completion dates.
  • View the progress with easy to use project profile pages.
  • Managers can create universal Expense Types and Expense Categories, billing and invoice procedures to be used against any project.
  • Easily submit your time and expenses against multiple projects.
  • Easily create and track invoices.
  • Automatically calculate Billing Periods for easy follow up.
  • Managers have the flexibility to override time and expenses.

Assigning Administrative Rights

Before a user can access the administrative features of the Time module (Approving or Declining Time and Expenses and Invoicing a Project) they must have the appropriate rights in NetForum. The rights needed to access the administrative features in the Time module are:

  • department head - allows users to approve time and expenses
  • executive check - allows users to access all invoicing functionality.

To grant users the appropriate rights, complete the following steps:

  1. Expand the Module Menu.
  2. Click the Admin link to launch the Admin module.
  3. Hover over the User group item to expand the User fly-out menu.
  4. Use the find or list functionality to locate the user whom you would like to grant access to the Time module.
  5. Click the GoTo go to icon next to their name in the list of results.

    This will open their User Profile page.

  6. Click the Edit button.

    This will open the Edit - <User Name> pop-up window.

  7. Click the department head and executive checkboxes.

    Note: Each of the checkboxes listed on the Edit - <User Name> pop-up window function independently of each other and provide access to different area of NetForum.

  8. Expand the department drop-down menu and select the department to which the user will be assigned. The user will only have approve/deny rights for this department.
  9. The manager drop-down selection is only for reference.
  10. Click the Save button.

    The users rights have now been updated and they have access to the Time module.
